Tammy Hayes got this for christmas, loved the softness and the design
This stole is woven from pure Pashmina (cashmere) wool, the ultra-fine undercoat of Himalayan mountain goats. After the spring molt, the soft down is carefully hand-combed, cleaned, and hand-spun into an exceptionally light but warm yarn. The striped design comes from alternating naturally dyed yarns in gradual shades, giving a subtle shaded effect across the length. The result is a fabric that feels incredibly soft against the skin and provides gentle warmth without weight.
- 100% pure cashmere wool
- Lightweight, breathable, and naturally insulating
- Incredibly soft

Pashmina vs. Cashmere
“Pashmina” is the local Kashmiri word for the same fiber the rest of the world calls “cashmere.” Both names refer to the fine undercoat of the Changthangi (or similar Himalayan) goat. Cashmere is simply the international trade term, while Pashmina highlights its Kashmiri origin and the hand-spinning tradition of the region. There is no difference in the basic fiber itself—only in regional naming and traditional methods of processing.

What is the difference between Nepalese Cashmere and Indian Cashmere?
Indian cashmere (pashmina) is a specific, high-quality type of cashmere derived from the undercoat of the Chyangra goat in the Himalayas, while Nepalese cashmere refers more broadly to cashmere from goats in the broader Himalayan region, which is also a high-quality, fine, and soft fiber.
While the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, true Indian pashmina is considered exceptionally fine, often below 12 microns, and is valued for its softness and warmth.
